Limitations
Expired and private stories cannot be downloaded
Stories are temporary. If a public story has expired or no media URL is returned, the downloader cannot recover it.
Private stories, close-friends stories, and restricted stories are not supported.
Timing
Download public stories while they are active
The story downloader is most useful shortly after a public story is posted, while the story media is still active and available.
If the story has expired, the downloader cannot restore it from history or pull it from a private archive.
